The Fragrance Guide
From scent families to fragrance notes and concentrations — everything you need to find and wear your signature.
Fragrance Families
Every scent belongs to a family. Understanding them is the quickest way to discover what you love.
Floral
Romantic and timeless — built around flowers like rose, jasmine, peony and tuberose. Ranges from soft and powdery to rich and heady.
Woody
Warm, grounded and elegant — cedar, sandalwood and vetiver create depth and a confident, lasting trail.
Oriental / Amber
Opulent and sensual — amber, vanilla, spice and resins such as oud. Rich, enveloping and unmistakably luxurious.
Fresh
Bright and uplifting — citrus, aquatic and green notes that feel clean, crisp and effortless for everyday wear.
Top, Heart & Base Notes
A fragrance evolves on your skin over hours, revealing layers in three stages.
Top Notes
Your first impression — bright and immediate, lasting around 15 minutes. Think citrus, fruit and fresh herbs.
Heart Notes
The character of the scent emerges as the top fades — florals, spices and green notes that define its personality.
Base Notes
The lasting foundation that lingers for hours — woods, amber, musk and vanilla that give a fragrance its depth.
Understanding Concentrations
The concentration of perfume oil determines how rich a fragrance is and how long it lasts.
| Type | Oil Concentration | Typical Longevity |
|---|---|---|
| Parfum (Extrait) | 20–30% | 6–8+ hours |
| Eau de Parfum (EDP) | 15–20% | 5–8 hours |
| Eau de Toilette (EDT) | 5–15% | 3–5 hours |
| Eau de Cologne (EDC) | 2–4% | 2–3 hours |
Our 30ml bottles are Extrait de Parfum — a rich, long-lasting concentration. Our 3ml roll-ons are pure perfume oil: alcohol free, skin friendly, and closer to the skin before they bloom with your body heat.
How to Choose a Fragrance
A few simple steps to discover a scent that feels unmistakably yours.
Start with a family you love
Drawn to flowers, warmth, woods or freshness? Begin with the family that appeals to you most.
Test on skin, not paper
Fragrance reacts to your unique skin chemistry. Apply to your wrist and let it develop rather than judging from the bottle.
Give it time
Wait at least 30 minutes for the heart and base notes to emerge — that is the scent you will actually wear.
Try before you commit
Start with a 3ml roll-on perfume oil — the cheapest way to live with a scent for a week before you buy the full bottle.
How to Test & Wear Fragrance
- Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck and behind the ears, where warmth helps the scent radiate.
- Don't rub — rubbing your wrists together crushes the top notes and shortens wear.
- Moisturise first — fragrance lasts longer on hydrated skin; an unscented lotion is ideal.
- Test only a few at a time — your nose tires quickly, so limit yourself to 2–3 scents per visit.
- Layer for depth — pair with a matching body oil to make your signature last even longer.
